info needed on shooting your own content

I'm helping out some buddies who are going to be producing their own content. It's not porn, but I figured that this would be the perfect place to ask.

It's going clips to be for a website. We are going to want the videos stamped with the website URL, but want to make sure people don't steal the clips and restamp them and claim as their own.

Can anyone recommend any resources to find out what rights we have etc, what we can do to stop video theft and restamping etc.

Thanks a bunch guys!

Mike

Your answers await you in the magical incantations of copyright law.
As for theft well learn your DMCA, and get used to it.

I''ll read up on the DMCA, hopefully its not 800 pages :winkwink:

Any good areas to read up on the copyright stuff?

As for the portecting, i would recommend using a DRM but since its not paysite content it might be harder

I guess you can only allow it to be streamed, and 403 direct access

You actually have as much rights as Universal, Paramount, Disney and Miramax but they have better lawyers... anyways welcome to the internet and good luck!
