What would you do?
 

You are a visitor in a foreign country and you walk through one of the deserted roads.

You come across what seems to be a dictator, his men and 20 civilians in front of him

He begins to speak to you, saying how the 20 were rebelling against his authority and they will be shot to be punished and to serve as an example for the other civilians

But then something interesting happens.

He gives you the choice to take the gun, and to shoot one of the civilians yourself. If you were to do so, he would let the 19 others go free as a sign of good faith.

Or you can walk away peacefully, and he will continue to do his dirty work, and kill all 20.

There is no other way around this, you cannot nogociate with him ,you cannot try to take him hostage. You either shoot one of the people, save 19 others, or walk away and let 20 die.

Which would you do?

I would probably shoot the oldest of the civilians.. The greater good and all.

Take the gun, then shoot the president and effect a daring escape.

i'm not trying to be mean but i'd probably walk away. i couldn't imagine killing anyone.

I shoot the mother fucker square between his eye's and take over his dictatorship and country, now that the dictator is gone his men need someone to lead them, Since I have a gun and the old dictators power, I shoot any man that will not take orders from me.

I then tell the 20 people thay are now free go tell your people what I have done...

If I walked away, in a sense I would be killing 20 people. I would shoot one to save 19.
