Buying hits (what a con)
 

OK.

This way my first time at this.

So I went to a site (recommended) and paid $20 via pay pal.

I was then asked to choose a site on a list and put a bid in.

I put a bid in for $00.20 per 1K of traffic.

My banner was on this site.

So far I have got 2 hits from this site.

I have realised I am paying for page hits/views to that site rather than clicks to my site.

So I am not paying for traffic but banner placement.

I was expecting a ton of hits.

Not impressed as I get more hits from setting up free sites.

Well at least I gave it a try, it cost me $20, I will not do it again.

There are not many sites out there that can send resonable good hits.

if you want to buy banner placement id reccomend you do it on some of the bigger tgp's or linklists.....

I did not want to buy a banner placment. I wanted hits, which is what I paid for.

In other words, its bullshit all these sits that say they will send you hits.

Just to make it clear, I paid $20, which was $00.20 per 1K of hits.

I presumed that was hits to my site, not views of the page that my banner was placed on.

I was going to pay $100 a week, thinking I was going to get great traffic.

Well, I shall never use such a service again, its basically bullshit.

Buy it at choker, you wont regret it!

Send me 5K of hits and I will be happy to use your site.

You paid $20 for traffic and you are all pissed off it didn't do anything?

This is why the most successful sites don't pay for traffic they build traffic. Yes it takes time. Yes it's frustrating when you don't get a million hits day and you see others doing it.

But in the long run it's much better traffic because they are actually wanting to see what you have to offer.

Not putting down buying traffic because that is a good starting point on traffic. But you need to ask questions and learn where that traffic you are buying is coming from.

IE: Buying 404 hits from an extreme rape site and sending them to a teen site is probably not going to do anything for you.

Learn where the traffic is coming from and what you should be sending it to.

Umm.. there's nowhere in hell you're going to get $0.20/1000 visits to your site.
It costs around $1/1000 to your gallery.. I doubt anyone will sell cheaper (non-shit) traffic to your paysite (which I assume you bought hits to). Otherwise the traffic would be sold out already.

Say you have a shitty site, and you buy 10000 hits to it for $2, you don't think someone else would do that too? I mean, you have to convert like 1/100000 to break even... Common sense man, common sense.

I don't condone misleading advertising, but you gotta use your own head too.

To be honest I am anoyed that I got 3 hits when i was expecting at least 20K of hits.

3 hits for $20.

I would be better off paying serfers $1 just to look at my site.

Paid $00.20 for 1K on http://www.movies.drsin.com/

Hits so far 9 (most by me testing the link).

I have cancelled the order.

I have put in for a request to refund the $16 that was not used.

So it will be interesting to see if I get it back via papal.

I'm not sure how you could have misunderstood what you were buying. Most of the stuff I see on trafficrouter is described like this;

"Traffic Type: Banner Impressions Price/K: $0.20"

How could you think you were getting hits for $.20/K?

I'm not defending trafficrouter or the specific seller (who ever that may be), I don't see how that is, in the least bit, misleading.

I dont know trafficrouter either. But Its not misleading at all, if it says you are buying banner impressions why did you think you would get something different? If you didnt want banner impressions why did you buy banner impressions?

i have only used choker in the past, ravo all i can say only good things about.
