I saw "Ong Bak" today.
Trailer here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/indepe..._bak-tlr.html/
I liked it. The fight scenes were awesome. This guy is right up there with Jackie Chan as far as i'm concerned. The movie itself was okay, but a bit of a letdown. Honestly, i think a lot of the meaning was lost in translation. It just seemed very corny sometimes, and i don't think it was supposed to be translated the way it was. I mean, in a spot where it seemed more appropriate to use smartass, they would use smartypants. That kind of thing. And the guy with the throat cancer reminded me of Cats from the "all your base" thing. Definitley worth a watch if you enjoy kickass fight scenes. |
saw it a long time ago in thailand... amazing movie... could not find it in NTSC to bring back to the states though... great fucking flick
|
Tony Jaa is awesome..the movie was a little bit of a letdown for me, but I predict big things for Tony Jaa...he's going to be a HUGE star
|

I've seen it about 30 times since it was released 2 years ago...he's def representin'!!! mad love to ma bro!!! :)
I can't wait to see what he's coming out w/ next.. but yes the translation screwed up the movie...there's so much more to the story line and the meaning..:) |
I wish i could speak Thai. I just knew the translations must have been fucked up. They need somene to redo them or something. But goddamn, i can't get over how many time that motherfucker elbows people in the head. Muay Thai sure is entertaining.

i watched it in the theater in Thailand... it was great, except i hated reading the subtitles =-/
