Does any fat person really honestly want to be overweight?

I hear so many fat women like MoNique the comedian who is an easy 275 or more say, "I'm happy to be this size, I wouldn't want to be a small girl."

Can this possibly be true or do you think they are just kidding themselves to make them feel better about their size?

MetaMan 03-14-2005 01:27 PM

you already answered your own question. :winkwink:

Spunky 03-14-2005 01:27 PM

I'm sure deep down they want to lose the weight.Maybe they just gave up?

spentrent 03-14-2005 01:30 PM

It's hard for some people to accept, but not everyone derives a sense of self-worth from the opinions of others.

mal 03-14-2005 01:32 PM

they are just too lazy to go to the gym

wes 03-14-2005 01:32 PM

I think deep down inside they wan't to know how it feels to be slender.

Fake Nick 03-14-2005 01:32 PM

for some its a life long goal to be overweight ,they love how girls dont even look at cha and think you are "gross" :2 cents:

KingAsher 03-14-2005 01:39 PM

It Keeps Them Warm During the Winter........... ? But no, they are just laughing off the embarrassment, just like when you fall down the stairs in front of a group of strangers, just laugh it off and pretend it never happened, same thing in my opinion............. :2 cents:

candyflip 03-14-2005 01:53 PM

I'm sure there are some who are happy with the way they are and some who aren't.

I know some smokin' hot chicks who still bitch about some part of their body. Most people are the same way...big or small.

Insecurity is everywhere, even in this thread.

Tala 03-14-2005 01:56 PM

I know what it's like to be "healthy" and even then I thought I was fat. There are some of us who have accepted our weight and yes, some who actually like it.

I'm not one of those.

wtfent 03-14-2005 01:57 PM

Im not fat but I have a tummy. I really would'nt want it any other way. If guys look to good girls get scared sometimes. I lost all my weight for a while then people started saying I looked sick and that I should put on a little more wait again. I took there advice and sure enough the girls were flocking to me again saying how cute I was.

groark 03-14-2005 01:58 PM

I think there are some who just want to be fat and some who want to be slim.. And those who want to be slim and won't admit it

hydro 03-14-2005 02:02 PM

being fat isnt so bad, nobody expects much from you and you can eat what you want when you want without worrying how much your gonna have to workout later to burn it off

mindoza 03-14-2005 02:04 PM

Ok Im Fat...Was thin all my life until I was 25...I lost 38 lbs. since September but have many more lbs to go..I use to fool myself that I was happy no matter what.

Truth is, I love the person inside but truely despise the person outside..This makes it a visious cycle that is hard to break!!!

monkeycafe 03-14-2005 02:39 PM

If ted kennedy wasnt fat, he wouldnt look adorable.

Sarah_Jayne 03-14-2005 02:42 PM

it is about being happy with yourself regardless of your size..if you hate yourself fat you are going to eventually hate yourself thin. I would rather like myself as who I am inside and then whatever is outside is just clothing.

That's a very healthy outlook, and what Candyflip just said is very true but if you could do it in a day wouldn't you do what you could to lose 40 or 50 lbs?

tony286 03-14-2005 07:58 PM

All the size acceptance people if could take a pill tomorrow and be thin ,they would.

hey if i could have my hair back i would, but i've grown accustomed to being bald and have found a new security and comfort in it that i have actually become even more appealing to women. so now i flaunt my "baldness" by totally shaving it and using it as an advantage. so i dont believe all fat people want to be thin, they are just force-fed that by society. some are truly comfortable the way they are :)

CC 03-14-2005 08:29 PM

Why would anyone truly want to be unhealthy (looks aside)? Actually WANTING to be unhealthy is beyond my comprehension.

sickkittens 03-14-2005 08:30 PM

It's who/what they have become.

kmanrox 03-14-2005 08:31 PM

answer to your question is: No

Who loves ya baby?

Alex 03-14-2005 08:38 PM

Fat people want to be overweight and like it. If they didnt like it they would lose wait.

I get a haircut. I dont like it, i change it. I get a new shirt, i dont like it i change it. I gain some pounds, i dont like it, i lose them

Furious_Female 03-14-2005 08:49 PM

With all the prejudices, opinions, fads, trends, and stereotypes in the world, you have to wonder if most people even know what they want or if they want what society deems right. If the majority of the world was naturally fat or it was healthy to be fat, the masses would be programmed to believe fat is more attractive and thin is not.

I believe if it weren't for social "standards", everyone would love who and what they are, regardless of what they are. Thin, fat, bald, black, white, short, tall, rich, poor... it doesn't matter.... everybody's hungry in a different way.

This can be true. Some women are making lots of money being heavy. Not just BBW porn girls, but "plus size" women in mainstream have a niche market now too, and most say they're making so much money being heavy, they have no reason to starve themselves to lose weight.

Don't know if they're actually happy when they look in the mirror though, but many are satisified with their bank account, and let's face it... there's lots of guys who like big girls.

It seems what MOST people on this board consider fat, I would consider "chubby" if that.

Twe Russ 03-14-2005 09:51 PM

Who cares?

Babagirls 03-14-2005 09:56 PM

Tala, I've seen you say this before and I still don't get it. You aren't fat. Where do you get off thinking you're fat?

Paraskass 03-14-2005 09:59 PM

I have a FAT DICK... would I want it to be smaller?

Major (Tom) 03-14-2005 09:59 PM

I'm a fat ass. I'm about 40 lbs over. If a good body came in a can I'd have one.. But I dont mind being fat or I would be working out. I know how to loose weight; i used to be into body building and wrestled back in the day, but there is just too many things going on. Unfortunatley, i come last... :(

Smoking IS enjoyable. It's just the long-term sideffects that suck.

GoodStuff 03-14-2005 10:14 PM

About 5 years ago I had a relationship with a girl that was breaking down. It came out that she thought I was fat. I was 5'11" and about 245 pounds. If you go by body mass index then I was about 65 pounds overweight. The funny thing is that I worked out and could bench press 365 pounds with 54 inch chest. I just never did any cardio work and had a 38" waist. I always thought I was stocky, not fat. It never even occured to me that others thought I was fat.

Peaches 03-14-2005 10:16 PM

I wouldn't say I WANT to be overweight, but I also don't want to make myself miserable in order to not be overweight.

BTW, my doctors says I'm one of the most healthy patients he has, so being overweight does NOT equal being unhealthy.

People who don't pump iron have no concept of bulk muscle mass. Although a 38" waist isn't thin.

It depends on how overweight a person is; I wasn't referring to someone 5 or 10 pounds overweight. Obviously if a person is morbidly obese, they are NOT healthy, plain and simple.

Huggles 03-14-2005 10:25 PM

$720 a month for my personal trainer, I'm getting into some pretty good shape. I can't seem to get my abs to show that much. I have some definition but not enough. Yes, I do cardio!

I can do 12 sit ups on a roman chair with 25 pounds on my chest.

Then again, I could get a brain tumor and die in a week. A friend of my friend died like that only a few months ago, he was in great shape, ate healthy, didn't smoke.

>shrug<

pornguy 03-14-2005 10:26 PM

they're just kidding themselves. Or they are making money off their fat, so it's not convenient for them to say that they want to be skinny

There have been studies done and many morbidly obese people can still be healthy. Many even run and/or work out every day (I'm not one of them :winkwink: ).

I know someone like that, hes a friend of the family. Ate oatmeal and toast and all that healthy shit every morning, never smoked, exercised, etc. Had to have emergency heart surgery the morning he was supposed to go to Greece. If he had gotten on the plane he would have died.

I'd say so. What's particularily funny is a certain large personality on GFY that thinks women prefer fat guys because it shows power or some wealth or something. Absolute nonsense.

I don't think that's possible. Being "morbidly" obese puts a massive strain on your heart.

Care to give us a link to any of these credible studies?

Christ just examine the words "morbidly obese"

Morbidly:

Of, relating to, or caused by disease; pathological or diseased.
Psychologically unhealthy or unwholesome: ?He suffered much from a morbid acuteness of the senses? (Edgar Allan Poe).

"He's a healthy morbidly obese guy." is a fine example of an oxymoron.

Pornwolf 03-14-2005 10:43 PM

What human being wouldn't want to be as attractive as possible to the opposite sex? To not want to be hot goes against our built in - reproduction is all important - genetic makeup.

Doesn't it?
