Tornado touches down in downtown Tampa Fl?

Just on Fox! Anyone from there have any info on it?

haven't heard anything, but drive around the trailer parks and you are bound to see some. Tornados always target the trailers

axelcat 03-14-2005 12:35 PM

Yeah, I guess it just happened. They showed some damage just outside of downtown Tampa and were reporting the word was just coming in that a tornada was hitting right downtown.

Crazy with downtown Tampa being that close to the water. Tornados are a bit more of an inland thing arnt they?

looks like a storm did just blow by there...

Tornados happen all the time. Comes from the Noeasterly weather patterns.

I am waiting until it comes and passes so I can go surfing ;-)

we're still here and the funny thing is that there are no trailer parks in downtown Tampa so I don't know why one would hit here!

hehe! I dont think tornados are exclusive to trailer parks. They do seem to be attracted to them though once they are up and rolling.

There is a bunch of parks off Hillsbough and the freeway leading into Tampa is there not?

JUSTB 03-14-2005 12:58 PM

yes there are a bunch on the water and canals off Hillsborough towards Tampa RD and then a bunch up Sheldon Rd. I'm a Fl native and I swear tornadoes are just drawn like magnets to trailer parks!

Trailer parks have a lot of generated heat from the metal in the trailer's raising up,
so any extra energy in the air will start a twister.
