how often do you actually visit a .org domain?
i may have come into recent possession of some names but i am just wondering how often do you actually visit a .org domain?
i BARELY ever visit them. |
Hardly ever if ever.
sometimes, the worth is more into either the traffic that already exists on it or the word being a generic word or in the last case very brandable :2 cents:
If I do, it's usually because I'm checking out some non-profit.
Pretty much only through links.. I can't remember the last time I typed in a .org domain.
what are some of the major auction sites?
i forget where loan.com etc. was sold at. i want to check out price ranges. |

every day
I never really notice. If I search for something on yahoo or google, I click on the results that look most relevant, I hardly ever notice the domain name, much less the extension.
Ive must of visited about a couple in about 6 years
Lots of times because I own several of them. But what does it matter if you're getting SE traffic? I mean as long as they click through the link, the domain name might as well be fdsfd6sbfdsiee33h3hfe.org
rarely :batman
Rarely. >10 times a year?
Daily... slashdot.org

slashdot.org

i cant get into details on mine specifically considering i am still in limbo with the deal but: if my company name is "skull inc" and the only .com domain avail is "theskull.com" and i could obtain "skull.org" i would rather spend the extra $ for "skull.org". |
rarely..
I visit slashdot.org regularly, and aadl.org (my local library's site) irregularly. Their extension doesn't matter to me. I'm sure I visit quite a few from google links, but I'm not paying enough attention to the domains to remember them. It would be unusual for me to type in a .org I didn't know, unless I was trying to guess the domain of a specific organization...I wouldn't just try a generic .org name. I do have some generic .orgs, the best of which gets a couple dozen uniques per day, but most are quite marginal.
