Nowadays it's just hard....

i've seen it thousands of times....someone comes up with a great idea and with a few month there are thousands of copycats....

That's just the way business has always been.

If you can get a 3 to 6 month run before its saturated with copies of your idea, consider it a win.

Just have to constantly stay one step ahead of the pack and throw them off track every now and then.

I agree with KRL ..
thats true... its allways was like it

The reason is usually a low economic moat, a term once coined by Warren Buffet... :)

The wider the moat, the larger and more sustainable the competitive advantage. By having a well-known brand name, pricing power, and a large portion of market demand, a company with a wide moat possesses characteristics that are barriers against other companies wanting to enter into the industry.

I'd almost say that half the fun is trying to stay ahead of the rest. Finding creative ways to market the product..

it wasn't as bad a couple years ago when people weren't as "internet savvy"....usually took a few years for people to catch on or develop something similar.

if it works for someone, people think it will work for them as well, its just common sense to try what others are doing

aaron 03-13-2005 05:18 PM

i think its ok to use other peoples ideas but i think its important that you are doing something to make it your own not just blatantly doing the EXACT same thing.
