There's a blind girl who attends the college here who has been in ROTC the entire time, passing not only the survival drills but the shooting range as well. She's been blind since birth, thanks to having been given too much oxygen in her incubator.

She scares the living shit out of me - strong and determined enough to go through her ROTC training, be a mother (she has a 7 month old), but still think that the US government should pay her way for everything because she's blind. :helpme

From what I was told, her instructors clear the area, set up her target at the same distance as everyone else's, give her the weapon and get the hell out of the way. She is then told to check the safety, given instructions on precisely where the target is located, and told to go.

It's amazing how well she gets around and remembers things. The other four senses have really helped her overcome a great deal of her blindness. She can't see for shit, but it doesn't slow her down.

Good thign she can't see her husband. I'm convinced that he could have only married a blind chick.
