In other news, a 22-year-old lottery winner was seduced, conned and abandoned by an unknown but large-breasted woman shortly after this photo was taken.

imafuckingaussie 03-13-2005 03:51 AM

Nice fucking win, do you Americans have to pay tax in the winnings?

It's nice to see someone win who at least has a chance to enjoy it before his heirs have to fight over it. It seems the lottery is usually won by people so old you wonder how they filled in the little black dots on the lottery form

gangbangjoe 03-13-2005 06:27 AM

i hope he can handle it

pussyluver 03-13-2005 06:42 AM

His smartest move is to give half to a CFP to invest. The other haf should be invested in escorts and having one fucking good time. If he continues to live in the trailer till he's 35, he'll do well.

Sosa 03-13-2005 08:25 AM

damn, what a lucky guy.

Tala 03-13-2005 08:29 AM

I hope he has enough brains to go with the money. Pay off debt first, buy house, possibly new car if he needs it, invest the rest and live on interest checks.

Basic_man 03-13-2005 08:34 AM

Holy fuck ! He's so damn lucky !

rowan 03-13-2005 08:39 AM

Is 18.7M the amount he gets as a lump sum payment, or spread out over the years?

tranza 03-13-2005 08:53 AM

If only I won such a prize..... Buonna Fortuna!

Homer 03-13-2005 09:35 AM

cool :1orglaugh

dirtysouth 03-13-2005 09:39 AM

MandyBlake 03-13-2005 09:41 AM

i hope he ends up being smart with that money

MandyBlake 03-13-2005 09:42 AM

i mean god....getting 9 million after taxes and investing it....even if you got savings account rates (3%) you could live very nicely.

$22k+ per month for life. Even more if you gradually draw down your principal as well. Pretty nice.

Mr Pheer 03-13-2005 10:00 AM

I bet someone just ordered a new chopper....

spideriux 03-13-2005 10:41 AM

he is a lucky one :D

Ron Bennett 03-13-2005 10:50 AM

If he takes annual payments, he'll get somewhere around $440K per year after federal tax.

If he takes the lump sum, he get somewhere around $7.3 Million after federal tax.

Now here's the part that really sucks for him ... Idaho is among the few lottery states that also taxes lottery winnings at the state level to the tune of 8%!

So the above stated amounts are reduced a bit more ... annual further reduced to around $400K and lump sum further reduced to around $6.7 Million.

Despite the big tax bite ... bigger than many folks may realize ... he's still getting a lot of money ... hopefully he has better luck with his money than Jack Whittaker had.

Sosa 03-13-2005 10:53 AM

if I ever won something like that I would take the montly payments. I could live very nicely off that.

ozmatt 03-13-2005 11:03 AM

he will soon have alot of new friends

Xenophage 03-13-2005 11:28 AM

for most people taking the $$ over time is better since 99% of them will blwo the lump sum in 5 years..

at least the over time they are forced to enjoy it for a lot more yers..

financially in an ideal world take the lump sum and put it in a very diversified portfolio and live off whatever comes in.. plus you have to save for inflation especially at age 22.. think how little the dollar will buy in 60 years.

at 10 mil cash in the bank.. you can make 200K a year or about 120K a year after tax or 10 K a month... I know a lot of people who spend 10K a month easy on just living life and I am not talking rock star life.. a 2 mil house will cost ya about 6K a month to live in..

Strife 03-13-2005 11:29 AM

lucky bastard

you get to deduct state tax from fed tax..

so teh 8% is reduced to 4%

Tania 03-13-2005 11:33 AM

fucking lucky bastard...
me I never win at lottery :(

pornguy 03-13-2005 11:34 AM

He could actually do well just putting the lump into a CD in a bank getting about 5%. Since the amount that he will put in is high, he can probably get them to give him a better %. The problem that mpst people face, is that they think that they can have anything that they want. And then they dont know how to pay the tax's on it all. They foget about that. They buy a 1 or 3 million dollar house, and a few 200k cars, and a few homes for friends. And then tax season comes, and they go. DAMN How the fuck do I pay this.

Oh wah.... cry me a river. "I only get $6.7 million... it's not even worth winning!"

I'm glad when I win $10 on the lottery. They can take $22,999,990 of the winnings and I still come out a winner.

People who cry "it's all gone in taxes anyway" annoy me. You won the friggin lottery. It's free money. You had $100 to your name, you now have almost $7 million. So what the gov't took a big chunk. YOU WON!!

It's not free money, since by definition the winner has purchased at least one ticket. Probably several over their lifetime. Again by definition the average result of a lottery is a loss for the ticket purchaser. :winkwink:

I'm pretty sure that in AU lottery winnings are untaxed. MmmMmMM.... :upsidedow

Chris 03-13-2005 12:21 PM

if he takes the lump sum of 10 mill
he will only pocket around 6 mill or so after taxes

i seriously hope it is smart with it and has SOMEONE who knows what they are doing with money

but we know how this shit goes

no one smart ever wins the lottery lol

slipkid 03-13-2005 12:27 PM

Maybe he'll start a new line of choppers?

Yep. But supposedly it's bigger if you take a lump sum payout.

mardigras 03-13-2005 12:39 PM

He looks older than 22.

Most 22 year olds are too young to make that money last :upsidedow

Farang 03-13-2005 12:49 PM

MrIzzz 03-13-2005 01:14 PM
