I just finished doing a redesign of my main gallery listings page.. And was wondering if you could give some feedback? Good? Bad? Let me know, thanks!

Ya know my advice about the tables but here's a few more points....

The links for webmasters to submit don't need to be right up top along side of links for surfers to bookmark. Don't confuse those surfers. Bury those webmaster links... we know where to find 'em http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif

Also, you may wanna ditch the trades with Babe & Bikini sites. I'm not telling you how to run your site but that is not how to grow a TGP.

As for the look of it... not too bad... at least it's neat and not a big fucking mess like some of these garbage TGP's popping up, and you have your own domain... Two thumbs up for that.

Looks good, but you say in your posting rules to keep the descriptions short ("Amateur gallery", "Asian gallery", etc.)... Wouldn't you get better search engine traffic (and make better use of that rather large "Description" column) if you allowed longer, more descriptive descriptions?

Yeah I set a new post limit to 100 galleries, that shaved about 24k off the index.html file.. Although I have seen tgp's with 200k index.html files.. Ouch!

Yeah that was the reason why I redesigned my main gallery listings, so that I could make use of longer descriptions, for search engine benefits http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif. Although it seems to have backfired on me in terms of the size of my index.html file which is currently sitting at 95k.. a little too big for my taste, so will have to see what I can do about that.

If you really wanna cut down on the file size of your index page you should write all the HTML yourself using Notepad. I dunno what HTML editor you're using, but it's inserting a shitload of useless code that can (and should) be taken out without affecting your layout.

For example: use a style sheet for your fonts, and get rid of all those FONT tags in your body. That alone should cut your file size down by 40-50%.
