do you ever ask yourself why you are in this biz?
 

Apart from the excessive chunks of cash, do you ever stop and ask yourself why you do this day in day out?

I've been seriously thinking about selling up everything, getting away from the PC and going back to university and finishing my degree. 6 years in this biz is a long time!

So, why do YOU stay in this industry? Thoughts?

go for the degree - you can be rich in other ways,,,

ever lost a girl you have really loved? maybe someone very close to you has died? Money isnt everything - sometimes life grabs you by the balls and drills into your head that stability, security and passion for the things you really want to do is what makes you happiest.

Money isn't everything and never will be. I don't think i need to prove my point any further here..

you are right, a degree by itself won't make you rich, but what if you are already financially secure? What makes you happy then?

if your porn career doesn't seem stable or secure to you, and you don't have a love for the porn business, then it would be good to get out and help somebody that really wants to do it.

i just like this biz because its a market place full of entrepreneurs and like minded individuals from all walks of life. what other industry is like this?

Really? Where do you think porn is going? And how can you sit there and say that a THRIVING business like porn won't be here forever but you don't even know what "business" you're going to start outside of porn? That shows right there that your mindset isn't right.

I had decided to retire and get out of the UK in 2000, I had enough money to live in Thailand and speak enough of the language.

But late in 1997 Eva came into my life and she at 20 was not ready to sit on a beach.

Got to admit I love it more now than I ever did. Money, never worked for money in my life. Got different motivations and the money always comes in.

I'm in it because I can make decent money working at home. When my son was younger, this was the best job a single mother could have. I was here when he came home from school, was able to go to all the PTA meetings, sport practices and games, volunteered at the school, was there when he was sick, etc.

Now that he's grown and moved out, I'm so spoiled being able to work in my PJ's and not having to drive anywhere that I don't think I'd ever be able to get a job outside the house again!

Porn just happened to be what afforded this lifestyle. If I could be working at home making the same money selling grapefruits, I would do it ;)

My goal with this business was to have a business I could do from anywhere with an internet connection. I just want to travel around and check out new places.

I like what I do thats why i wake up and do it each day

It was a hobby I started 9 years ago, and when the internet changed to a "pay to play" I had to change with it.

Why am I still in it? Working in your PJ's is nice. Working from home is even better. But it's more a stepping stone than a career path. I will diversify when the time is right.

I went back to college at 30, got my BS degree @ 37, and while at the University I decided to publish porn in 1991 on a media not well known, CD-ROM.. so school is what got me into porn deeper!

I love this business, and would not leave it for the world.

if I ever question it I go down to the train station one morning and watch people commute..that is all I need

in my opinion....the minute you ask yourself that, it's time to change careers.

Some thoughts:

1) I don't consider it a job

2) I love getting paid to explore and create new methods of generating traffic

3) It's the only thing, outside of art, that I can find that excites my passion for creating something tangible from intangible ideas.
