can i be arrested for killing the praying mantis?

No just an asshole, why would you kill a praying mantis for? Just throw it outside.

When I was a little kid our house got infested by them. Apparently there was a nest in our christmas tree. :1orglaugh

Depends on where you are.

They are a protected species in some states i thought.

You know that the female praying mantis bites the head off of the male of the species after having sex, right? Heard that on Animal Planet. Just the opposite of some human females I have known.

In N.J. you can get a $500 fine. I was visiting my brother in Northern California. In the nursery there they sell them . So why don't you buy a few and liberate them. Let them go free you'll feel better
