SplitInfinity has entered an agreement with the maker of StrongBox,
(Ray Morris of bettercgi.com) a cryptographically secure site defense system.
StrongBox is the first software of it's kind to utilize strong encryption to battle
password sharing and brute force attacks.

According to Chris Jester, CEO of SplitInfinity Networks (splitinfinity.com)
"We entered this agreement to provide the software to our customers
at a more affordable price. Normally the software sells for $150.00
per domain name protected. In our case, we have negotiated an agreement
to the benefit of our customers. SplitInfinity customers can receive
this protection for $15 a month for the protection of 1 web site.
Each additional site is only $6.00 per month. By enabling site owners
to protect their sites with no setup fee's and low monthly service fees,
more site owners will be able to sleep at night."

SplitInfinity is a web hosting company based out of San Diego, CA
and has been providing web hosting and dedicated servers since 1994.

So actually when I buy it, I "make" money after 10 months? Everyone who will use that software will use it longer then 10 months IMO

SplitInfinity 03-11-2005 07:59 PM

Yeah, pretty good software if you ask me. :-)

Lots of webmasters arent ballers. The feel seperation anxiety with 150.00 and to them, the entry point is easier to deal with regardless of the fact that it might cost more over years. Normally anything paid for over time, does in fact end up costing more.

Basically though, there are, belive it or not... Many thousands of webmasters who cant afford to drop 150 bucks right off the bat. Easier to bill them 10 bucks a month.

Exactly....it's not that they are getting you any great deal, they just figured out how to make some money for themselves off this product. :2 cents:

Nice to see more options. Kudos to you.

Chris 03-11-2005 08:50 PM

awsome
i have a feeling alot of other hosting companys are gonna be offering this type of add on soon

The Heron 03-11-2005 09:46 PM

If they can't afford the 150 for a security system how can they afford your hosting? Bah, at some point people need to realize you have to spend money to make money!

That's just a bad deal all around. I can't believe someone can't come up with $150. OTOH, I'm also still pisssed off that the StrongBox guy decided to drop my installation and ignore me. After hearing "great product" I had high expectations but the guy just disappeared.
