Am I the only one whos firewall settings disable the graphics of some TCG sites?

I always remember that I couldn't load TCG without disabling my Norton firewall...now I just checked again, and now they load fine for me.

But some of their paysites still load for me without all the graphics, when i have my firewall enabled. I know I can change my Norton settings at any time and they will load correctly, but I have the default settings as proably most surfers have.

So - if any of you uses the Norton Firewall, please reply to this thread and tell if f.e this site loads for you correctly with all the graphics, or not. :)

Same thing happens for me. Why does Norton do this?

Jey p 03-11-2005 05:15 AM

Same thing here.
We need to use zonealarm, we won't have that problem with it. But I always forget about this and keep using damn norton :P

Hmm, I know we fixed this for the TCG affiliate site,, I will get on tech
right now and make sure all the paysites are corrected,, strange problem
but techies know what needs to be corrected.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

and it's also somehow funny that with the THOUSANDS of webmasters who promote TCG and send them huge traffic, noone noticed that before me and notified TCG

Norton even blocks some ads from regular TGP galleries, that's insane :P

Yep, years ago it was doing it for me, so I assumed it was just a clash with nortons, no biggie, I just disabled it when checking tcg stats

Yeah once in awhile I'll come across a gallery on a TGP and I can't see the ads or thumbs on it so I have to disable the firewall to view the gallery. There seems to be some incompatibility issue, but aside from that no other problems.

yes, webmasters can disable Norton or change its settings somehow, but when the surfers click on your link to a TCG paysite and the site wont load, they simply close it...and i am sure MANY sales were already lost because of it

everything is fine here

We should promote Zonealarm hehehe

I made a post regards this a while back. Zone Alarm Pro and Norton block out images, complete pages and even domains. I believe its a fairly serious issue though others think thats not the case. You will find a bit of reading on the web regards it.
