Is using only text links to promote sponsors a bad idea? No banners or hpas or anything, just descriptive text.

Alot of people use banners with text i know.

I get better click throughs with text links, don't have much use for banners anymore since surfers seem to be immune to the common sizes and placements.

Banners are good for decoration but not necessarily clicks although they work well combined.

text links generally get better clickthrus plus its se food

Use both and figure out which ones work better for you.

I've found a combination of both - including useing text to describe pictures - works well for me.

I rarely use banners. Maybe just a nice wide banner on the warning page. I usually put an HPA on the main page though.

Lots of text links are good though. They draw clicks and they make good food for search engines.

Use both! Then u cover both surfers. Those who clicks text links and those who click banners
