Tweaking a cable modem for speed

Is there anything that I can legally do to my comcast modem to get better speed? I just upgraded from 3mbs to 4mbs today and they said it will soon be up to 6mbs soon but I still would like more speed. Any ideas?

search google for uncapping cable modems. If you get caught there is a hefty fine, and you will never get cable modem service again if I remember correctly.

i don't know if you can do it with the normal comcast modem. but one of my friends was talking about a different type of modem you can tweak.

yah thats what I do not want to do.

Any other methods to do it but are ok with them?

They are incredibly unlikely to fine you.... But they will ban you for life so if you don't have DSL available in yoru area you could lose broadband for life. or until you move.

Yah it is still not worth it at that cost. Unless there is a method to do so that they are ok with.
