What is the general consensus for promoting a webmaster program that offers a three-day trial on their sites? Is that something which is perceived to be a negative in regards to affiliate conversions/pay-outs? Would that detract someone from joining a program? And what about offering a one-month only option? Would offering these make you less likely to join a webmaster program?

I would never join. All program owners are scammers. Do not trust them at all.
