Are Paid Partner Accounts worth it?

I've been considering getting a few of those, but I wanted to get the input of the GFYers first. What do you guys think?
Any advice?

Thanx!

there are some good sites that are worth it.. some even have the one time fee payments

SykkBoy 03-10-2005 02:44 PM

it all depends
I would never pay for a partner account where a recip on the galleries was mandatory and I'm more concerned with quality of traffic over quantity, so would be more likely to go pay preferred with a more niche-specific site

the most of them do not

pornguy 03-10-2005 05:10 PM

OK, thanx guys. I guess I won't be getting any partner accounts... Let me try to get some free ones to smaller TGPs.

Thanx for your input!

shuki 03-13-2005 03:37 AM

Some def are :thumbsup

Yes they are worth.
For example on some very hq traffic sites (madthumbs, prettyhotbabes, xnxx, tommys bookmarks, etc, etc).
But buying spots is much better; )

I have bought at free2peek at TGPalliance .. will test them and give some reply here

Recently I bought a spot and it paid out very nice!

ANual Partner Accts fpr 50$ or so are fair enough to give them a try I Think 2 sales and you got the money back . most allow you to submit 2-3/galls a day .. these are up to 90 Galls a month which are more than 1.ooo Galls a year ... so 2 sales should be possible

Sony 03-13-2005 04:24 AM

Better buy spots on big sites.

zentz 03-13-2005 04:54 AM

Recips send almost no traffic. Paid partner accounts work well for me. :thumbsup

IMO the only reason the issue of paying to submit hasn't blown up is because most TGPs still don't charge. So right now webmasters swallow a few hundred dollars extra expenses without examining them too closely.

With most sponsors it is difficult and often impossible to track visitor through to sale. Even with those who make such tracking theoretically possible, it is usually too cumbersome to translate into the environment of TGP submissions. Although we have a very strong suspicion that all TGP traffic is not created equal, we are pretty much stuck with assuming it is: that a TGP generating 10 times as much traffic as another, will also generate 10 times as many sales. That isn't satisfactory, but it's an assumption a mass submitter is pretty much stuck with.

If you have been doing submissions for a while, you should know your overall earnings per gallery impression. Then if you know how much traffic to expect from a particular TGP, it is easy enough to calculate whether paying for the privilege of submitting is worth it. That very crude calculation may often suggest the answer is no, maybe not because there isn't still a profit left, but because that profit is too small to fit the traditional one-gallery-per-day-per-TGP model.

The point is easier to illustrate by using Choker's gallery traffic as an example. His traffic is perhaps slightly better than the average TGP because he makes more effort to clean it up than many do. Some submitters will do better, some worse, but over the years I have seen 1 premium sale per 20K visitors most often quoted as a reasonable target. At this level, you are going to pay $20 and earn say $30.

If you want a 6-figure annual income, you have to make about $275 a day. Put it another way, on the figures I am using here, you would need to buy 550K traffic DAILY from Choker or someone similar. If that sounds outrageous, consider that when all TGP traffic was free, 180K a day would produce the same income. Experienced submitters routinely got that many visitors until a couple of years ago.

You can argue over the specifics, try to do more exact calculations to account for bandwidth, content, etc. But the basic point is that paying to submit to TGP's is buying traffic by another name. If doing so only helps maintain your traffic at existing levels, you are headed for trouble.
