which program was the first to come up with the free hosted gallery concept?

I was told by someone it was Eros Webmaster.

Whomever that did should be proud. Even though some argue that it created lazier webmasters, it made business a lot better too.

I'm curious too. What a great idea it was.

As far as I can recall, it was a pornstar program run by MrCeleb, using the GloBill redirect codes to pass your account info on to his ready made gallery links. And it took a surprisingly long time before I started to see other programs begin to do this themselves.

But the program that really ran with the ball was NastyDollars. They just banged shit out, and it all looked tight, too.

What was the name of that program that created awesome galleries of there own and let you link to them with your aff code for a percentage of the hits? There were one or two, but one in particular was really good. I almost think DirtyD ran it, but I am not sure. It was in 2001 I think.

The first time I ever saw such a thing as a hosted gallery from a sponsor was stiffycash from the porncity people. I don't know if they were the very first to have them, but I'd bet they'd be damn close. Didn't see other programs coming out with them for many months after stiffycash had them.

Many programs did "hosted" promos back in the day.. Just to promote our sites we hardcoded the links on the tour and put it in a folder for you.. That would include galleries, promos, free sites.. Even though a gallery wasn't quite the same as it is today. This was around 97/98..

NastyDollars made hosted galleries popular.
