Ex-Marine Says Public Version of Saddam Capture Fiction
http://www.wokr13.tv/news/national/s...0-21C8818788D4 United Press International A former U.S. Marine who participated in capturing ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said the public version of his capture was fabricated. Ex-Sgt. Nadim Abou Rabeh, of Lebanese descent, was quoted in the Saudi daily al-Medina Wednesday as saying Saddam was actually captured Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, and not the day after, as announced by the U.S. Army. "I was among the 20-man unit, including eight of Arab descent, who searched for Saddam for three days in the area of Dour near Tikrit, and we found him in a modest home in a small village and not in a hole as announced," Abou Rabeh said. "We captured him after fierce resistance during which a Marine of Sudanese origin was killed," he said. He said Saddam himself fired at them with a gun from the window of a room on the second floor. Then they shouted at him in Arabic: "You have to surrender. ... There is no point in resisting." "Later on, a military production team fabricated the film of Saddam's capture in a hole, which was in fact a deserted well," Abou Rabeh said. Abou Rabeh was interviewed in Lebanon. Who say what. They control the media... so :2 cents:
|
Why lie?
|
The gun fight in a modest home would have made a good story as well.

It's the U.S. Government. Do they even know how to tell the truth? |
OH crap. Here we go again. I bet they didn't even capture him.
|
if that story is true i guess the reasoning behind it was to make saddam look like a coward cowering in a hole rather than a hero (to some of his own people and the arab world) for putting up a battle before being arrested.

Same writer as the " Jessica Lynch Story: a true hero " ....
Now you are ruinning the " feel good" effect for Americans. That's not nice. It makes you an " America Hater " .... Jessica was blasting her gumns, Saddam was in a spider hole and Baghdad shines with an overflow of electricity .... |

:1orglaugh Very good... LOL.. |
|
The truth is I captured Saddam.
|
Interesting, but who really knows who to believe?
|
remember the saddam imposters?
you guys ever seen that footage of some iraqi that was working at a gas station, looked dead, DEAD ON like saddam but wasnt him - i seen this shit on CNN, it was crazy. i dont know what to believe anymore except ah fuck it nevermind |
UPI is the UPN of news reporting . . . not a very reliable source. Besides, the Iraqis themselves claimed at the time that they, not the Americans, discovered Saddam and lead the Americans to him. Link? Damn, I can't find shit in my booikmarks anymore.
|
stuff like these really makes everything hell a lot more confusing

I dont really believe that story
But I'm pretty sure all the media releases were partially fabricated and "powdered up" for release to the people :2 cents: |

I really don't give a shit either way. They captured him.... that makes me happy enough.
|
How many guys look like Saddam anyway? :1orglaugh
|
Hmm, I wonder how his "trial" is going anyway? Maybe I've been in a cave but I haven't heard anything about it for a long time.
|
The modest home story with Sadam shooting is much more believable than the hiding in hole story. Sadam doesnt seem like the kind of guy that would hide in a hole... Judging from his history, I'd say the modest house story is the real version of events. :2 cents:

I wonder how some of you find this "suprising"...the "hole" thing had fake written all over it...
|

course they didn't wasn't there stories about him having lookalikes that would go on walkabouts and sutff?? I bet it's one of those actually hehehe but I got too much of an overactive imagination soo.. no one pay attention to what I say I am most probably yapping away for no reason but it keeps the voices out of my head! :thumbsup |
I'm not surprised... that hugely popular image of the Iraqi people pulling down his statue was staged too. Have you seen the zoomed out images?

First time i'm seeing that. |
This was debunked as a hoax last week !

Do we even expect the truth anymore? I don't think so.
