As expected, 2005's most anticipated rap album, 50 Cent's appropriately titled The Massacre, will slaughter the competition on next week's Billboard albums chart.

50's sophomore release sold more than 1.1 million copies in its first week, according to SoundScan figures released Wednesday (March 9), easily earning the honor of biggest debut of 2005. The follow-up to the rapper's smash debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin', knocked Omarion's O, the former B2K singer's solo debut, out of the top spot, and outsold second-place-seller Jennifer Lopez's latest, Rebirth, by nearly 1 million units.
I think it was planned all along.

The Game And 50 Cent To Make Peace
Date: 3/9/2005 9:29 am

50 Cent, The Game and their respective camps have decided to lay their beef to rest and will make a formal announcement at a press conference today.

This morning The Game called into Hot 97 with Angie Martinez to reveal the plans.

"It?s going to be a positive thing for both sides," said Game. ?I think it?s so much bigger being that the date is March 9 [Biggie Smalls? death date]. I?m def doing to do what I got to do...[to be] on a positive note.?

Slightly over a week ago, 50 Cent booted Game from his G-Unit camp and the ensuing friction resulted in a man getting shot outside of Hot 97. Since, 50 has relaxed his views and extended an olive branch to his former protégée.

Game said that the press conference was such a pressing matter than he was ushered to New York in a private jet.

The Game then proceeded to donate $3,000 to The Christopher Wallace Foundation, a Biggie Smalls pay-for-play drive on the radio station. The Game requested that Martinez dedicate B.I.G.?s ?Warning? and ?Going Back To Cali.?

The press conference will take place today at an undisclosed venue in New York.

Digipimp 03-09-2005 11:48 AM

the truth is that they both know without dre behind the two of them they would still be doing freestyles and local mixes so they agreed to shut up

50 cent has been around forever, before dr dre and aftermath offered hiom a contract other labels were offering him more $. but he decided to go with aftermath for obvious reasons.

that's actually incorrect, he had a deal and was dropped for his character and troubles. no one was offering him big deals bigger than aftermath. the facts are without dre he would still be rapping mixtapes and would never have sold platinum.

yes and no.

after he was dropped there was a bidding war for him. SO NO.

there were others wanting to offer him deals but none of them would have paid like dre's. bottom line without dre 50 is not platinum and still doing mixtapes to make his money. game without dre and 50 is still doing west coast mixes and clubs, not even close to platinum.

so as i said they both shut up because without dre they've got much smaller pockets

SetTheWorldonFire 03-09-2005 11:59 AM

sounds fishy to me

nico-t 03-09-2005 06:02 PM

i think it may be real drama, and dre sat down with them that it aint good for (his) business that 2 of his rappers are rivalling: income practically in half when one of them wouldve left aftermath.
