Business Thread: Gallery Ratios

I recently read somewhere that if you're doing a Join:GalleryView ratio of 1:10,000 (yes there are 4 zeros there) that that gallery is converting well. What throws me is, that same gallery had a Join:Clickthrough ratio of 1:900, which by most definitions is horrible.

On the flip side I've had a Join:Clickthrough ratio of 1:200 but a horrible Join:GalleryView ratio of 1:25,000! So what gives?

How do you guys judge what does well and what doesn't? Does it simply come down to bottom dollar? Maybe if you're "big" enough, you don't care what the conversion is? You just look at the numbers, like, cool 50 joins today??

Any input is welcome...

Only check the clicks to the galleries of a specific sponsor and see the conversions, you never know where a sponsor is measuring his ration ( enrtypage/billingpage) , You could use askjolene to see how much a sponsor converts on galleryclicks

You mean 10k to a gallery = 1 sale... thats good!

If you buy traffic at $1k / and you send 10k = $10 spent and u get paid $30-$35... You make $20-$25.

simple math and good ROI if the ratios hold

It's pretty simple
when you have good gallery with high CTR, you can get 1k clicks to sponsor from 10k visits, so you get 1:1000 ratio, because some ppl click and do not intend to buy, they just click because you got good gallery

BUT if your gallery sucks, then you get only 200 clicks to sponsor, w/out the ppl who don't want to buy

Are you jokin??

1 sale : 15,000 views on gallery is average
1: 10,000 is extremely good.
