Need a lawyer in the LA area... PLEASE READ!

I have a friend that recently went in for a photo session, was later talked into doing video... was pre-screened for STD's upon taping, and has came back with at least 3 STD's that she had contracted from someone in that studio. One of which can be controled, but not cured :p

I need a reputable lawyer that will take on a case from which she will be suing the production company, and possibly the actors, and talent agency altogether... anyone that will take a case like that and that is in the LA area with a good reputation would be nice...

BRING IT ON!

Take a look at the Cali bar association web site. See what you can find. Call them, and then ask for refferences.

latinasojourn 03-08-2005 03:02 PM

IMO this is a case that will not result in damages.

because it is a "he said, she said" deal.

STDs do not transmit DNA, and millions of people have them, so it is impossible to determine with absolute certainty the actual timeline and circumstances of transmission.

i would let her sue, demand a jury trial, and watch this thing evaporate.

ProjectNaked 03-08-2005 03:02 PM

best of luck, make sure to have proof of no /pre or post/ contact with anyone else :Oh crap

Talked into doing video? That is generally a yes I will do it, or no I do not need the money that bad ordeal.
Pre-screened for STD's upon taping? They do not do it at the set, you go to the AIM clinic and get tested and get your results.
She came back with at least 3 STD's from someone in the studio? I would think she knows who she had sexual contact with correct? Or did she screw around with everyone from the camera person to the craft foods guy? Also did she not request and view the others test results before working with them?
Sue the production company, ok maybe. The talent agency, why what did they do. The actors, well I suppose. But maybe just maybe she should be reporting this to AIM so others do not get infected instead of just thinking lawsuit.
Lastly can she verify that she has not screwed around with anyone else shortly before or after the shoot up unto the point of finding out she was infected?

bluecontent 03-08-2005 03:09 PM

Good luck...but...

If they all had AIM tests good luck. AIM can confirm data. If she didnt ask for any then good luck too. If any of them falsified information...then you would have a case.

Otherwise she is going to be SOL. Especially if she has been shooting much at all. The risk is assumed and known.

Probably more likely herpes, syphilis and gonorrhea.

agreed.

tell your friend not to waste her money or time on a lawyer and chalk it up as a bad learning experience.

welcome to the porn biz.

DirtyDanza 03-08-2005 03:29 PM

no lawyer will even take that case... and she does not need to go in there... even in my releases if the girls read them .. state that this is a high risk industry and said company is not held liable for anything...it's her job to look at test... what if your an electriction and you get shocked and loose your teeth you think the company is going to pay out of pocket for fals teeth for you? same thing... don;t waste your time... thats her fault for not leaving the studio if she was scared of that... and her fault for everything.. it's all her fault.. not the studios... this is not a safe office job... thats the only bad side to production... you will never win the case... and I am sure if you read the release you will see it stats something like mine does .. to not hold the company liable or the "actor"

James White 03-08-2005 03:31 PM

Doesnt sound like a solid case.

Murderous 03-08-2005 03:39 PM

Well, thanx guys... I am still waiting to hear any other opinions.

Keep it coming.

I appreciate everything you guys are saying, and we are hoping for a slightly better outcome.

Been on the phone with J.D. and he says we should wait to see if any other girls file the same complaints, otherwise there is no way to hold anyone from production responsible.

We are in the process now of contacting AIM... any numbers and or addresses would be helpful... unless it is on her test results?

grumpy 03-08-2005 04:22 PM

Im suspicious about everyone being tested. She would have been to the building and should have the info if she got tested.
Not trying to be a prick, just am not a fan of people running to lawyers.
