Thumb croppping in Photoshop
 

I'm trying to crop big jpegs for TGP thumb 90x120 size instead of using the tool included in Comus/AutoGallerySQL but they always turn out awkward compared to what Comus does.

The way I'm doing it is this way:
Select area,
Image -> Crop
Image -> Image Size
Width 90pixels, Height 120pixels, Uncheck 'Constrain Proportions', Resample Image - Bilinear

Add this to the batch:
Size your image to 120x120,
Insert a fixed size marque at 90x120
Crop that marque

Need some math...

Goto figure the various % value to determine pixel size.
Photoshop does this.

Set the selection tool to Fixed aspect ratio of 90X120

Use the select tool and it will remain scale to the aspect as you drag larger or smaller to 90x120.

That's not the way to do it.

Select the Rectangular Marquee selection Tool. In Style above choose Fixed Aspect Ratio and enter your desired width/height and play with the selection tool a bit and you'll see :)

why not just put in the sizes required ie 90 and 120 into the crop tools size boxes in the top bar and then drag on the pic, the resuting rectangle will be resized to 90 120 and you can move the crop box around before cropping to get what you want in the thumbnail ... or have I missed the point ???

As you can see with these answers....with Photoshop there are many different ways to do the same thing.
