Why Is Dollar Called BUCK?
 

Okay, I am from the UK and one of my friends asked my why 1 dollar is called a 'BUCK', I'm sure the answer is very obvious but please repsond. I realise that this is total ignorance on my part....

However, I also want to know why people in the UK call 1 pound a QUID ?

P.S - I am from Scotland and obviously spend too much time looking at porn and not paying attention to word definitions! LOL

Any help would be appreciated.
