all this talk about attacks on the US
you people seem to have amnesia.
http://www.counterpunch.org/stclair1126.html Now, 35 years later, Ennes warns that the bloodbath on board the Liberty and its aftermath should serve as a tragic cautionary tale about the continuing ties between the US government and the government of Israel. :thumbsup |
we've been attacked by our so-called "friends" and our government said "this should be forgotten, errors like this occur"
i watched a documentary on this attack and interviews with survivors. this was not only delibrate, but was enough to cause a war. we should have attacked the same day |

I didn't watch it but I assume you mean when Israel attacked and tried to sink the USS Liberty during the 7 day war? If so yea it was fucked up and they should have been punished for it.
It was by no means an accident.. |
It's true, it could not possibly have been an error. The ship did indeed fly a very large American flag, and was very identifiable as a US Naval vessel. Probably (this is just my opinion) the Israeli government feared security leaks regarding its war plan.
Still, as I said in the other thread, I believe the US should have suspended arms shipments to Israel after that attack. Was an apology ever made, at the very least? |
I agree. Too bad we had that lard ass LBJ in office. He only liked to kill yellow people that did nothing to us.

the government/military officially called it "an accident and it should be forgotten" to quote: "these errors occur." tell that to the people who spent hours defending the ship, losing shipmates, and fighting for their life. |
But we did seem to bomb the shit out of the Canadians that come to help us in Afghanistan.
