you've never used socks as mittens as a kid? I did and I didn't grow up poor at all......Once the socks get wet from the snow, you can just go in and throw on a fresh dry pair.

no, I didn't but these are the same kids the earlier in the year I saw rip the wiring out of the pathway lighting system and use it as jump rope.
