ummm i fixed it. i wrote that half awake this morning and admittedly did not proof read.

i have someon else read over my writing, but didnt this morning due to rush :(

Evil Jawa 03-03-2005 12:08 PM

np, just looking out for fellow webmasters :)

good read :thumbsup

Fletch XXX 03-03-2005 12:09 PM

nah, i appreciate it.

i love to write, but i admit i am not the best with grammar and punctuation, although I try.

i usually never publish anything in public without having it proof read.

today was exception...

any suggestions on how you'd handle tracking for typeins?

subdomains may work, but if the blog is say randomgirlblog.com, majority of typeins are going to go straight to randomgirlblog.com skipping over the subdomain i'd assume...

bookmarking with an affiliate code variable or subdomain works i guess, i'd just assume a lot of the traffic would come via typeins for the blog. good for the program i guess...i'm not sure if the idea of retaining daily traffic to the affiliate works though...cookies maybe

how do they handle type ins now?

affiliates dont get credit for people typing in tawneestone.com

nor should they for people typing in tawneestonesblog.com

you listed that as one of the benefits of having a hosted blog in your article.

esnem 03-03-2005 12:20 PM

actually i see where you were going with that now...best thing about blog traffic is the bookmarkers though :2 cents:

Fletch XXX 03-03-2005 12:22 PM

there will be traffic leaks and pros and cons to this as any system or method.

i am not the one who will make it happen, but i can help come up with the ideas :)

right on...you figure hosted tgp, the pros are no work and credit on sales with the cons being the traffic leakages on typeins. same thing with a hosted blog. great article :thumbsup
