I am ready to go MAC, fuck PC's

Fucking PC's and the fucking issues. Two nights ago I am working and poof the computer goes off, now it wont boot. I tried to reinstall Windows XP and it will not even let me.

Why should I not go Mac? The last time I used a Mac it was a G4 dual processor , I was using it for Photoshop, web design and using Final Cut. The company that I worked for swore by them, it kicked ass, never any problems.

Sounds like maybe a virus or some spyware shit :(

No it doesn't...

Sounds like a hardware issue.

KMR Stitch 03-02-2005 10:57 PM

You should have gotten a MAC long time ago..if you are a Graphic Designer + content shooter..

PC's for everything else. Gaming...Gaming...-=)

MetaMan 03-02-2005 10:57 PM

MrJackMeHoff 03-02-2005 10:57 PM

You'll be back, I tried mac and came back too.

Jace 03-02-2005 11:01 PM

i have a mac g4, and it crashes too...LOL

it would help more to learn problems and solutions, then you can fix easy shit like this very quickly

fact is, parts die on pc and mac, and it sounds like you have dead parts in your machine

but spend the $3000+ on a mac...no reason not to...but when the time comes when the mac has a problem are you going to bitch about it and go to linux?

I rarely have issues with my PC. I format once every 2 years or so just to keep it fresh. Never any viruses or spyware.

But, that's just me. Now, my grandfather on the other hand...

D'oh!
Fuck dude, I get a new one every year and STILL have issues with them.

Sly 03-02-2005 11:25 PM

The only computer problem I've ever really had was around Thanksgiving. Something happened to my drivers. Other than that, no problems and I've gone through probably 5 computers over the years. Now my roommates computer on the other hand... spyware central. I reformatted it and now keep it offline.

Shoehorn! 03-02-2005 11:28 PM

You won't regret it. :2 cents:

abadfish 03-02-2005 11:29 PM

I could never use a PC. I can't stand using them when I am just fixing them for my friends...

I think for your business a Mac would give you less problems and allow you to work more often.

I have been a fulltime designer/video person for 6+ years. Always doing something with graphic material.

Last summer I took a position for a Magazine being a graphic artist. They forced me to setup my (and all the other designers) office on Macs, I was also in control of Network admin.

I swear to god man, i hated it, every moment of it. You think Macs dont have problems? Ive seen more crases from the macs we had (G5's and Powerbooks) then ive ever seen from ANY of my PCs (except the WinME edition). Also the ease of use on them is pathetic.

Overall, i hated it, i'll never go back to Macs. It's just like wearing Diesal clothes.. it might LOOK better or more appearling, but it wont hold up as long as a pair of Levis from wal-mart on the farm.

tASSy 03-02-2005 11:33 PM

welcome to the dark side, i <3 my mac! :thumbsup

Vitasoy 03-02-2005 11:34 PM

I tried using a mac, and I hated it.

Pornwolf 03-02-2005 11:37 PM

I will never give um my easily accessable right click button! Never!

UniversalPassLorence 03-02-2005 11:38 PM

I use Mac, the main disadvantage is the cost & flexibility of hardware/software :Oh crap

idiotbox 03-02-2005 11:52 PM

Macs are great for getting work done. I've used pcs since the amega & commodore days and they seem to be overly prone to failures. It's in their blood :P

I bought a 12" iBook a few months ago and couldn't be happier. Mac applications are really well thought out and have a completely different ideology compared with Windows type apps. And OS X is light-years ahead of XP, at least until Longhorn comes out.

But it's a personal choice. I bought a mac because I wanted a change and something new to play with. Using it as my primary machine for a few months, there's no way I could go back to Windows.

pornguy 03-02-2005 11:56 PM

The only problem that I have with mac is that they dont have as many programs. But other than that they are great.

And since I own stock in them, please buy one!

Jim_Gunn 03-03-2005 12:07 AM

I must have good computer karma, my three pc's (one old Win Me P3 and two newer P4 Win XP machines) don't have any serious problems. And teh two newer machines I put through some heavy use, editing, encoding, all hooked up to several external hard drives. Mostly works like a charm, and I'm sure that good maintenance helps too!

Satisfaction 03-03-2005 12:10 AM

macs suck imho but thats your decision

Me neither. That's why I use a logitech mouse with my Mac :winkwink:

In the family we have 2 G4powerbooks, an iBook, a dual G5 tower and awaiting delivery of a Mac mini to sit in the cupboard and act as server interfacing with the HiFis using Airport Express. With the setup I'll have, anyone of the family be able to play any of our music collection on any of the steroes in the house from the a simple selection of the song from iTunes on their computer. :pimp

Oh, and not a single one of those machines has crashed in well over 6 months and only gets rebooted whenever a system update is installed. That's the truth.

Like mentioned above, Macs are for getting work done. PCs are for playing.
