I have to agree .... I've done business with Paypal for more than a year, and they are in no danger of going under ... those 2 websites managed to find 20-30 haters out of 7 MILLION people who have used the system ...

This is such propaganda ... anybody who buys into it is a fool !!!

They are in such bad shape, that Mastercard is partners with them for their account debit cards ???

Shame on whoever started this thread, for beleiving such POPPYCOCK !!

The thing is that one of those sites is bitching about their service, how they charge so much for this and that. They provide a VERY HELPFUL service, so shouldn't they be able to charge you for it ?

If you've ever used Ebay, it's a great tool to have. I've used it many times to pay or recieve payments for things on Ebay. Being able to get an instant payment for something that I sell is great and for buying stuff, I can just logon and send out an instant payment to get the item much faster than sending out a check or money order. I don't know if it still stands, but I know that it used to be cheaper than Ebay's form of online payment.

Hell, I even recieve sponsor money from Pay Pal. I had to contact them once for a problem and I go through to them right away and they did what they could to help me.

As far as their financial stability goes, I don't think that they're losing any money. You figure that they're dealing with MILLIONS of dollars and each time that money moves, they're taking a cut, so I don't know about that.

oh, Paypal is losing money, that's true, but what you have to think about is that this is a common business technique.

In the adult world, you try to make your ROI as fast as possible, if possible, within the same day, however, it's not always possible or even desirable. As a start up company, paypal had to invest a lot of money to gain the CC's trust, millions actually, they are losing money in a controlled way, they know how much they are losing and when the tide will turn. Now, they are planning an IPO, that's a common move, this will give them the fresh cash to turn the tide of loses into gains, it's just a matter of time. Of course, those two sites that are spamming everyone, found the persons that are not happy with Paypal's service, and they are making a lot of noise, but, as with any big biz, you'll have some people not happy with the service they received, no matter how carefully you treat all your clients...

BTW, just as an example, Amazon is losing money as well, and they are still considered a successful company that will in the future turn the loses into cash...

Have you checked Amazon's stock price lately? Not to mention several analyst downgrades of the stock ...

Very few actually think Amazon will be profitable now ... Barnes and Noble is kicking their ass on books too ... since Amazon has lost their advantage there ...

Personally ... I'd never bet on PayPal ...I just think there's too many things that can go wrong there ...

Am very inclined to go along with this.
Just think of how much money they would make if they raised there rates $ 00.10 shit in one week I could live like a king for the rest of my life (of course am 79 years old RAT now).

Ok, fine ...

I guess nobody's heard of the dot com crash ... LOL

They're losing money ... investors have typically lost interest in these type of investments ...

But hey ... PayPal is in no danger of going under ... LMAO

Phil21 12-12-2001 01:14 PM

Paypall will go under if not bought out by a real bank. Which I highly doubt will happen.

Paypal = suck. I refuse to use that service after they made a fuckup and double billed me. (they billed *both* credit cards I had on file with them) Then they refused to help me, more or less. Their customer support is worthless, and because of it I'm out $200.

paypal is backed and part owned by one of largest banks. yes they are running out of money. they said without further funding they would be broke in 1.5 years. Plenty of time to get things right and get more funding. I see policy changes each day they make them look stronger and stronger.
