My daughter broker her leg.

If anyone has been having problems reaching me directly, this post is to tell you why...

My daughter broker her leg in two places. She is 6 years old so this is a major problem and I have been tied up in the hospital with her and the rest of my family.

You can always reach our office for support and help, technical and otherwise. However if you try to reach me personally about something,
thats why Im not readily available right now. :-)

Should anyone need to get me, try my cell 619-227-8845
and I will have it with me at all times as usual.

THIS IS THE REASON SHE BROKE HER LEG:

note 2 self, dont buy 1 of those fucking things for Tayla

hope she gets better fast man, thats gotta break your heart

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 12:40 PM

Yeah. they might end up having to do major surgury and put pins in her leg and stuff.
Were praying the cast will suffice.
She has an whole leg cast on at the moment.
She will be confined to a wheelchair, which we just received last night, for at LEAST 6 weeks.
School is willing to take her in the wheelchair and deal with it because they adore her, so the teachers assistant wants to push her from class to class..... I dont want her education to suffer as she is in a private school and in Grade K, already learning Japanese and etc.... LaJolla Country Day School.

Funny thing is, she didn't even really crash.
She stepped on her leg wrong to prevent crashing and has no cuts, scrapes or bruises, just a broken leg.

Taking her to the bathroom is VERY difficult. She has to be carried, and it hurts her to no end. It sounds like a torture chamber here every time we take her to go potty.

:-(

sonofsam 03-02-2005 12:42 PM

already learning japanese? impressive :)

wierd... i thought bones were the strongest at around that age...

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 12:46 PM

Yep.
She already reads books and speaks Japanese and Spanish.
:-)

Pete-KT 03-02-2005 12:52 PM

hope she feelsa better bro let us know if u need anything

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 12:53 PM

I have 4 kids and we got rid of all their razors.... they love riding them so much, but this just opened my eyes alot. They always use helmets, but the legs breaking just to stop the thing never even crossed our mind. We were more focused on knees and elbows and the head. Those pads did nothing in this case. Amazing. Im looking all over the net right now and am finding lots of similar complaints about the safety of them.

Tania 03-02-2005 12:55 PM

Awwww... I'm realy sorry for you'r daughter hope she will recover soon...poor baby :(

She'll be okay man, dont stress it. You guys will now remember the story of "the evil scooter" for the rest of your lives :winkwink:

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 12:59 PM

She was going fast and turned sharp (as she usually does with no problems) and decided she wanted to stop quick, put her leg out and foot down to stop and it just broken her leg in 2 places badly.

The doctor said that the speed she was going at combined with her body weight caused enough inertia and gravity/mass to surpass the strength of her leg.
He said he sees about 2 to 6 kids a month with broken legs for the SAME reason
riding Razors.

sorry to hear that man , we all hurt when our kids do :(

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 02:21 PM

Now some good news.... She laughed for the first time and is now rolling around on her own in her wheelchair. Apparantly the Tylenol with Codeine worked. :-)

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 02:22 PM

The medical bill is going to be outrageous though.

Im guessing about 55k. :-(

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 02:22 PM

OH, and thats MY portion, yes, we are insured with a 500.00 deductable. They pay 70%

Sly 03-02-2005 02:22 PM

Watch out Chris. After these 6 weeks her arms will be so buff that she'll be able to take you on!

aimeesweet 03-02-2005 02:26 PM

SplitInfinity 03-02-2005 02:41 PM

Awww... Soo sorry to hear, hope for a speedy recovery.

just a punk 03-02-2005 03:41 PM

Ouch... Hope everything will be ok with your daughter.

My son has broken his arm when he also was about 6yo. He was climbing to a doorway (he rested his arms and legs against the opposite walls of doorway and climbing up and down). Course that was a stupid thing, but he liked to do that... So one day his arm glided down and he felt to the floor. His arm has been broken so it even curved out. That was really terrible sight. However he even didn't cry (he will be real man when he grows!) However his arm was absolutely healthy after 2 weeks of plaster - children recover very fast. Course thanks a lot to free but good Russian medicine. I have no idea on how good it in the USA, but I hope it isn't worse than Russian one.

Once again, I wish a faster recovering to your daughter and strong nerves to you bro!

detoxed 03-02-2005 04:08 PM

Damn I was in urgent care for a sore throat and a kid came in with a broken nose. I bet breaking anything hurts like fuck, I wouldnt know.

But damn I hope she's not in too much pain

L0stMind 03-02-2005 04:39 PM

damn at exactly 6 I broke my leg too. Except I was run over by a moving van :)

Broke it in 6 places, and almost all the bones in my left foot.

Only thing wrong with me now is my left leg is half inch longer then the right. She'll heal up fine I bet. Best wishes to your girl.

MandyBlake 03-02-2005 04:53 PM

i hope she gets better soon!

iwantchixx 03-02-2005 06:23 PM

man, those little scooter boards have been around for 30 years. This is the first time I heard of this happening. Don't take away your children's favorite toy. Just make sure they understand to use the handbrake like their suposed to instead of their legs. It's common sense and not the razor's fault.

I hope your little girl gets better soon and out playing again.

A broken nose realllllly realllllly fucking hurts.

I broke mine with a mop handle at my old job once. Went to slam open a big metal door cause I was pissed at something and the mop handle got in it's way... SMACK!

Never went to hospital or nothing. I let it heal as is, now my nose if fucked up and it's hard to breathe at times.

Man I don't care what your doctor says but this is something really weird to brake a leg without a crash. Her bones had to be weak somehow, maybe a lack of calcum or something. I know what I am saying because I was a professional hardcore sport guy some time ago. I wish her all the best, hope there will be no need for a surgery.

Spunky 03-02-2005 06:45 PM
