Does anyone use Vonage??

What are your experiences?

nojob 03-01-2005 11:50 AM

Vonage was cool, I hated their fax service.

Babaganoosh 03-01-2005 11:51 AM

I use it. No complaints so far.

Tony Montana 03-01-2005 11:53 AM

It works well, and is cheap.

Thier customer support is VERY VERY VERY BAD
I have never had customer support this bad before in my life

DWB 03-01-2005 11:54 AM

I am just about to get one. I was using one in Brazil and I loved it.

fl_prn_str 03-01-2005 11:54 AM

it fuckin rocks......however just like anything sometimes service is choppy.

brand0n 03-01-2005 11:54 AM

I really like it...sometimes it is choppy, but for $27 a month (includes taxes) I can blab to all my pals anywhere. What's really cool is they keep a back up number if your internet service goes down, and it works flawlessly...my home phone goes to me cell IF my net goes out...which has happened a few times.

AaronM 03-01-2005 12:00 PM

Vonage rocks. I have an occasional glitch here and there but their service people are quick to get problems resolved.......Not sure what Tony's problem is all about.

We use the call forward feature as well...I like it.

We've had Vonage for a couple of years now, I've never had to call customer service, so I don't know how bad or good it is.

dirtydesignz 03-01-2005 12:03 PM

We use it for all our communication to the US and Canada since moving to Cancun. Sometimes it's choppy, but for the most part, it rocks! And we use it to send and receive faxes, not the fax service they provide, just our fax machine...just like a regular line phone line:)

MandyBlake 03-01-2005 02:02 PM

vonage is wonderful.
you get all the bells and whistles and its so inexpensive.

ronaldo 03-01-2005 02:04 PM

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated.

I just signed up with them.

It'd be nice if they'd get people that spoke proper English though.

Red Ezra 03-01-2005 05:12 PM

what about caller ID? available with vonage?

It sure is :)

Been using it about 6 months now. No problems at all. I got the box, plugged it in to my router and that was it.

With caller id, voicemail, and all that its a huge bargain.

I love Vonage thus far. Could you please enlighten me on what is wrong w/ their fax service? Thinking of adding it to my existing plan.

A smarter person would have had an existing Vonage customer refer them. More freebies for both people that way.

Oh well......

How do they work with overseas calls (Europe, Russia, etc.)?

From what I've seen all the VoIP companies charge $0.05, etc. per minute which for me is about the same as buying a $10 phone card at the local variety store. Unless I'm mistaken .... ?

tony286 03-01-2005 08:34 PM

it rocks and I cant wait when they come out with their wifi mobile phone. For 20 bucks a month and its like a cell but it works on wifi

OzMan 03-01-2005 10:21 PM

I use Lingo, seems to be a better deal than Vonage.

$19.95 a month unlimited US Canada and Western Europe and 3c a min to AUS.

Includes all usual call features plus neat stuff like voicemail .wav emails and getting to choose what state or Country your number will be. :thumbsup

I have some employees in the United Kingdom, and it's fine. Great service all around.

Pirate mode re-enabled

YARGH!

pornguy 03-01-2005 10:27 PM
