Chargebacks and merchant account

I have my own merchant account.

I get very few chargebacks but I'm very mad each time.
The reasons those cheaters are giving to chargebacks are, most of the time, pure lies.

Is there a general negative database where I can add their datas in order to block them from buying from other sites ?

YARGH! Most merchants have a negative database, some share them too for scrubbin' Which gateway do you use? They should have information for you.

I wrote my own gateway and I use Moneris.

I was wondering if, ie. CCBill, IBill, Paycom share the same negative database ? Or if they all have their own ?

Just want to punish those bastards who chargeback for no reasons.

You chargeback, you won't be able to use your credit card online again.

Where do you have your merchant account at?

Used to work for Mastercard and Visa (BMO/Moneris)
after 3 chargebacks from the same client, the card is pulled and they are suspended from obtaining any card from the service provider (M/C, VISA, AMEX etc...) Check your merchant contract - should mention something under the chargeback field. Only problem, u could get burt twice before the dildo gets nailed.

Watch Moneris, they have some fucked up clauses - They had a one-year thing where you had to pay for the full 12 month term regardless of when you want to back out. Also, thay drop associations all the time and they'll flip your rate without notifying you. keep an eye out for that shit.

do you run your merchant account through netbilling?
if so you can use their main black list.
I choose not to to maximize signups, my chargebacks are so small that I do not mind, business wise, the couple of chargebacks, but personally, it pisses me off also, especially when I get their signed form in the mail telling their bank they tried to contact me or some other stupid crap.

Each processor has their own negative database and scrub scoring, independant of the others.

Johny Traffic 03-01-2005 03:12 PM

I think people who charge back should be posted lumps of dog shit in the post

NETbilling 03-01-2005 03:39 PM

We have our own database that is shared between our merchants and nobody else.
We do support Moneris if you are interested in switching to Netbilling.

Thank you, Mitch Farber

Merchants are not allowed to share customer data (Visa/MC regulations) so each one has its own independent blacklist. I think it sux.
