Help Save My Church
I go to a little tiny church called Mount Salem Baptist... it was the one I was married in 10 yrs ago as a matter of fact.
The building is over a hundred years old (yes, that tiny) and is literally being held together with wire and about six layers of patches on the floor and roof.
The childrens ministry downstairs and where they hold their bible study classes is so mildewed it's not healthy for them to be there. The building is so old there's no way to fix that.
I've done what I could, didn't have hardly any money to donate but I gave them my entire sound setup... and man it sounds great!!!
I'm building 'em a computer, one webmaster was kind enough to hook me up with a website for them so we can do some cool things with video and audio.
They've got 65,000 in the building fund total.
I don't know what it costs to rebuild or build or fix or much of anything other than audio and video.. but anyway, every week when I go by I think about those little kids downstairs, the peeling paint, the leaking basement, the floor that has to be jacked up and has a big hump in it... no lighting for the outside of the church.
That ... kinda sucks.
I'm gonna try to see if I can get them a dsl or cable modem connection that's about all I can do to help right now except to come to my friends.
You may not be religous, you may hate baptists or me or be of some religion that hates folks like me and I apologize to all of you if i've offended you with this post.
But if there's anybody out there.. any of my friends.. who could or would be willing to help out here's the address to make a check or donation payable to:
Mount Salem Baptist Church
6152 Mount Salem Circle
Flowery Branch, GA 30542
Whether it's just a dollar or ten or a thousand or whatever.. nothing is too small. And you can maybe feel pretty good about yourself, cause it's a good thing to do. 100 percent tax deductible isn't too bad either.. is it?
Don't send anything to me, don't even mention me if you don't want to, it's not about me.
Again.. please forgive me if I've offended anyone.
Thanks so much,
dokk
