Not sure if I agree. I was only there once, but remember it was all tables/chairs and not a lot of standing room to mingle... Maybe I didn't see the rest of the place but it looked too much like a restaurant to hold a casual gathering?

diavolo on richards has large private rooms you can reserve with their own bars in each. upscale casual, right on richards and davie near the yaletown craptus.

my vote is still for diavolo cos i know i can get us a big private room there and its got best drinks around. i dont give a shit when i just need some sort of consensus here before i book the place..
