tell me why i shouldnt buy a $1000 espresso machine
been lurking espresso sites forever and i want a new one, pls tell me i dont need it, every damn 2-3 yrs these machines explode due to calcium, theyre messy, expensive and i buy espresso outside anyhow... but i love them lol
anyhow else here into that? |
i like good coffee, havent gotten into espresso yet
|
Check out the Phillips Senseo Single Coffee Maker, its like $75 and though its not expresso maker, its does make a nice very strong cup... :pimp
|
If you have some money to spend why not
|
dont get one cuz it costs $1,000 lol
if you wanna blow that much money on something, go buy something better than an over-rated coffee maker :upsidedow |

|
tell me why i shouldnt buy a $1000 espresso machine..
coz you can get a cheaper one? |
cuz you don't fucking need one!
|
I have Saeco S-Class Incanto Deluxe, it was pretty expensive (over 1000E) but I love it and my gf does a great coffee :)
|
We have been looking at getting one for the office
they seems to make good coffe:) |
ok delonghi is a diff kinda class, saeco is a topnotch brand, unfortunately the quality isnt, theyre around 500 (starting) and i know at least 5 ppl having them and having trouble, its all plastic, aluminum brewery group, so with the calcium here thats 2 yrs and gone
im lookin at a jura now, theyre quality and used in pubs as well, ive had a manual machine, 3 to be honest, but im tired of the crap they produce, 1 min coffee making and 15 mins cleaning |
id love to get an ECM like this, they look great, but they need maintainence every damn day, lube the seals, clean everything etc etc, plus they start at $2k, without a grinder, you need one too...

they even sued some companies who remade the pads, they sell them everywhere now, the coffee is crap, they give fancy names to it, but coffee is coffee if you put it in a coffee maker. They even have an alu version for 200 bucks, complete waiste of money. Ppl think they can spend 200 and get a decent espresso machine, but they cant. Anything that doesnt produce 15 bar pressure and uses real arabica coffee doesnt make espresso, thats bout it. Hey some ppl spend 1000 on shoes i spend it on coffee :) |
Go for it, nothing compares to a good cup of coffee :thumbsup
For that price the store you buy it from should provide servicing and cleaning if you bring it back in... Ours does. |
I bought a $900 SAECO italia, it was pretty awesome at first but now
the coffee always tastes gross. i tried to clean it for like 3 hours too.. i dont know if i have the wrong beans or what but ive wound up just going back to starbucks for espresso i dont know if i believe that it is going to explode in 3 years and if so wouldnt they have to replace it? |
OMG that is to much money for a coffee machine!!!!
I can think of a million other things to spend it on. What if you find a nice antique one to just show off or something since you really wouldnt be using it any. LOL you said you mostly buy the coffee outside the house anyways. |
go2starbucks and save your money.
|
One, you won't use it as much as you think you will. Two, you won't be able to make it "as good". Three, you will not save enough money making it yourself to justify not buying it down the street to make back you 1k.
|
Buy the fucker. You will never sleep properly again. HAd one in an old office; a german job that grinds the beans etc etc shit hot espresso at the touch of a button. I was caffeine wired for that whole six months.
|
Buy a La Pavoni, very "manual" but makes excellent coffee! :thumbsup

Theres no such thing as wrong beans btw, what CAN happen is when you move the grinding scale from fine to finer, a bean gets stuck and damages the grinder, but as long as you buy arabica (the greasy feeling beans) you should be ok, dont go for regular beans, they wont get the crema (the yellow thick creme on top of the coffee). Take it to the shop, if its within warrenty theyll replace the seals, if not its like $150-200 |

Go Krups, they are truely the best. :2 cents:
|
Run some white vinegar through your machine every coupla weeks. That should help the calcium deposits.
(Just in case you don't do that already :)) |

I've been looking into it quite a lot lately since I will buy one soon. I will get an Incanto from Saeco since it has the new 12gr brew group, the only ones that has it... what I've seen at least. The other full auto espresso machines has only a 9gr brew group.
