Little photoshop annoyance. Help a brotha out!!!!!!
 

Whenever I have an area selected and want to redo it by clicking and reselecting an area it doesn't do that anymore. It just adds to the current selection. It's the same as if I was holding down the shift key.

How do I get this back to normal?

Sticky Keys?

Nope. New keybaord and the shift works fine.

I had this happen to me a year ago and somehow fixed it. I just can't figure it out this time.

The sticky keys accessibility option is not even present on my system so it's not that either.

You probably have the add to selection button clicked, it's the one with the two grey boxes, second from left, you want to be on the one that is the single grey box, far left.

what version of ps? in 6 it's right on the selection toolbar.
