Palm Pilot vs. iPaq with windows?
Which one is better? A windows based Pocket PC PDA seems to make sense because it will function similar to your computer with the software, however the palm PDAs seem to offer more features for less $. But I'm not sure which one to get, any thoughts?

I have a palm. I love it. But if you are after stuff such as wifi or software on the net, windows machines seem to be better. Reason why I would choose a windows machine: Skype. Last time I had a look they had software for the windows machine but not palm. I would be tempted to have a windows machine connected to wifi as a way of having a portable phone that I could use free. http://www.skype.com/products/skype/pocketpc/ |
The pocket PC has the keyboard and some people claim they are actually productive on it. Otherwise they turn into really nice paperweights.

i would go for iPAQ, spend a bit more its worth it

I have an iPaq 2215. It has a CF and an SD slot, and I have a 512mb card in each.
It does everything I need it to do, from Nevo (the 2215 has an IR sender so it can act like a remote, fun for those long stays in a doctors' office, and killing TVs in stores that have them up way too fucking loud for advertising... :) ) to a personal task manager, to an mp3/wma/wmv/mpg player. I don't need gigs and gigs of space for my media files, so a 1 gig total is enough for me. |
I had a palm for a while, always wished I had gone with the PocketPC - more useful software integration. I have problems with the actual unit shorting out, might've just been a bad one.
It was great for poker and cribbage :) |
Ipaq WIFI never works like it should.. its a real disaster.

The Palm browsers SUCK.
