The biggest downside of being self employed.

Anyone else have the problem of blowing all their cash during the year, and then when tax season comes around you get KICKED IN YOUR FUCKING ASS??

Sorry just got an email from my accountant with my final numbers for 04'.... venting.

Is it legal?

If so, how exactly does it work? I know nothing about it.

I assume you'd just have your sponsors wire your payments to the offshore account. Then you just dont give them your SSN?

Then you get an ATM/Debit card for the offshore account?

I'm down for whatevers LEGAL to get my taxes lower, but im making enough to still pay them, so im not going to risk my business to save a few bucks.

Down for suggestions, someone point me in the right direction.

your tax consultant should know all the LEGAL tricks to avoid paying (too much) taxes. at least mine knows :)

Its not legal in the USA if you work here and put your money offshore to hide income.

Oh, put a shitload of money into a retirement account

I pay my taxes quarterly, at least that way I avoid too many surprises :)
