...the hair...
...the lifestyle...
...the talent...
...the rock band story with a member death...
...it would have to be Led Zeppelin.

No other band has ever really "had it all" in my eyes other than them. Lots of good rock bands, but they were THE rock band.

I agree Led Zeppelin is in there...but not for Stairway to Heaven.
They had sooo many other songs that kicked Stairway's ass.
