indications are IE7 won't have tabbed browsing. Just piles of security patches and features. Users probably won't notice much difference

Chris 02-25-2005 03:22 AM

Actually, its Microsoft's stance that it wont have tabbed browsing.

They dismissed it as a stupid addon that noone would ever used when mozilla came up with the idea. Putting it in the next IE release would kind of be making fun of themselves.

It is the kind of company that would cut off its nose to spite its face.

I've used AvantBrowser for a long time, but I'm switching to MaxThon. Avant is buggy as hell.

Maxthon is hard to get used to, but it seems really stable.

GatorB 02-25-2005 08:01 AM

I don't get the big deal over tabbed browsing. More of a pain than anything. Wastes too much time

I don't see how it's much different and it isn't any quicker than having several pages open in IE and clicking the tabs on the toolbar...

I love it. All browser buttons in one place. Not 8 buttons in the task bar mixed in with lots of other buttons.
Can arrange it so I always have the two left ones for boards, next two are for coding and the rest is other stuff.

KorayIsSexy 02-25-2005 08:26 AM

It takes much less resource to have tabbed browsing then multiple windows.

Chris 02-25-2005 08:46 AM

ughhh i dont want to swtich to a whole new browser
i want to use IE :(
if i wanted to use a diffrent browser i would switch back to firefox or moizla or whatever

MS is so fucking stupid - they need to set the ego aside and just face that TAB BROWSING IS ELITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Explain why my IE loads pages about 5X faster than FireFox then? And I just dowloaded the new and so called "improved" firefox and I tried using it for about 30 minutes before getting sick of that crap.

Basic_man 02-25-2005 08:51 AM

Get back to Firefox, NOW !

KorayIsSexy 02-25-2005 08:56 AM

5X faster? Wow. Its hard to believe there would be that much difference in load time between any browser. Maybe your connection sucks? I any case, firefox loads pages faster for me. I dont know why you would be getting that much difference in load time.

there really is
i always have outlook open my ftp of some sorts be it ssh or cute ftp
and a broswer and a few chat windows
anytime i open up mozilla and had all that on or firefox m computer would lag
if i had to open up photoshop i better get ready to restart
but after going back to IE
works like a charm again

KorayIsSexy 02-25-2005 09:06 AM

Hmm.. stick to what works I guess. Personally, I dont really hate IE. Im just a mozilla whore. I think if microsoft would actually update the browser engine rather than throwing stupid patches at it it would be a great browser.

How would my connection make a difference? If that was the problem I would be loading slow in BOTH don't you think? Anyways I'm on Charter 3 Mbps cable and I typically run at 2.6 Mbps. All I know is the more pics/grpahics a page has the longer it takes to load with FF.

I feel the same way. I am sticking to IE

KorayIsSexy 02-25-2005 09:19 AM

Connection by means of packet loss and whatnot. I swear certain ISP's show browser bias. o_O

shuki 02-25-2005 09:21 AM

Maxthon is the way to go :thumbsup

sweet7 02-25-2005 09:47 AM

I opened this thread in a tab :)

woj 02-25-2005 09:49 AM

hmm, even if IE had tabs I would still use firefox...

Veterans Day 02-25-2005 09:52 AM

firefox has become very buggy as of late and crashes, way slower load times than IE especially on startup. firefox and its resource whoring is ridiculous
