Panasonic DVX100A.....Anyone have one or used one?

Where can i get one at a good price? I had access to one up until about a week ago but never put it to use until it was too late.

Whats your experience with the cam?
Is there really any advantage over the non "A" version?

Thanks for any help.

Bump in morning for me if needed guys. Thanks :thumbsup

Great camera, i love the cine-look feature, and also the 24p feature (not very useful for internet though), not worked with the non A, so i don't know... but overall, the camera has great image quality, great manevrability, lots of pro features, slightly noisy on low light conditions.... but when the light is good... a great camera

Great camera for people who know how to actually operate a camera. If you are one of the people who just want to turn a camera on and let the camera make all the exposure and focus decisions then get a VX2100.

The price of the DVX is way down and also there is a $300 rebate now because anybody with a clue is moving to HD now since the HDV cams came out. Pannasonic will be out with a 720p DVCPRO HD cam under $10k this year also so they are trying to move their DVX100A cams now.

You might want to check out the Sony HDV cams. Some morons on this board say the camera is shit but they don't know what they are talking about. I have to get up at 5 am to go work a shoot for the TV show NCIS and will be doing some of the risky shots with the HDV cam while they keep their $165k F900 HD cam safe from the water. So if the HDV cam is good enough for a backup of a $165k camera on a network TV show then it is good enough for the average retard who is shooting models.

My friend who used to have the DVX sold it and bought the HD1 which was the first HD cam. Even after post production I think that the Panasonic looks better in means of obtaining a "film look". The Panasonic doesn't have much depth and the colors are soft but thats the two main things 35mm and 16mm cams lack. Since lack of depth is something that is attributed to the film look.

I found a great DVX forum with clips and stills...the camcorder is simply amazing. I might give it a llittle more time to see if the price drops a little.
