You might want to think again. I just found out today that you guys do 35% federal withholding on income made through partnerships, plus however much state taxes on top of that (9.3% for california).

For the longest time I thought you all were insane for complaining about your taxes 'cuz for an equally longest time I've been told that US taxes are sooooo much lower than canadian. Today I learned that's a major fucking lie, and shit, if I had to give away 44%+ of everything I earned to a government that gives me nothing in return I'd be thinking about tax revolt too.

FWIW - I pay 18.1% combined federal and provincial tax for my small business... and frankly I'm amazed that anyone down there can DO business if that's the way you get shafted by the taxman. :disgust
