How to simulate Modem Connection Speed?

I want to know how a page loads for 56k Modem Users (I'm on DSL though)

Any ideas? How can virtually reduce my connection speed?

If I recall frontpage and a couple other WYSIWYG editors have a tab setting that will let you know the download times at various connection speeds.

Not easily. The best way is to just ask a friend with 56k.

You could split up your connection till its knocked down to around 56k but.. thats not entirely simple.

56k6 users download with 3-6kb/s. Do the calculation yourself. :winkwink:

Not looking for the download time. I'm interested to see how a page with streaming media loads for a modem user ..

Don't annoy 56k6 surfers with streaming media. I was on dialup for a month just two weeks ago because my DSL was fooked, and all those flash/wmv embedded/overused .gif pages just bugged the crap out of me.

A webbrowser loads a page from top to bottom btw.

the easiest way is to use a proxy IMO
One that will slow down your connection to a crawl ;)

For so many years I've thought that it loaded it in a clock-wise circle :(
