ringtones,mobile screensavers info
 

I'm researching the ringtone screensavers business trhu sms where you send a sms to a specific number thru sms and get back a specific ringtone and so on and they charge 2-3 dollars per one.

Now I have trouble locating the software to run it and the carriers for it so if any one has any info to share It would be great.

I'm incredibly shocked that downlaoding ringtones and wallpapers is actually as popular as it is. The costs involved are incredible. There's data tranfer fees from the cellular provider on top of the fees charged by the rington/wallpaper sellers.

For an mp3 ringtone it would work out to roughly $11 a piece for me. If someone has a usb cable for their phone then they're in luck. They can grab the ringtones for free :)

Most sites allow you to preview the tone. Just right-click, view source, grab the tone's URL and drop it in an html document. Load the html doc in a browser, right-click and save-target-as on the file :)

Voila.

You must be on plan then I asume? I'm charged 5c a kilobyte plus 2c per page loaded. On a $40 a month data plan I can go unlimited tho but it's not something I do often, in fact, I haven't used the browser at all yet.

Most phone companies have gone away from the steep data rates, because they know they can make more money selling applications than they can selling bits.

iwant: Which operator are you using? Hell, even in the States, I get unlimited GPRS on T-Mobile for 5 bucks a month.
