For those who are 30 and over...

How did it affect you? IŽll be 30 in 3 months and it hasnŽt affected me yet but IŽve noticed some of my friends also turning 30, especially guys, thinking alot more about their life, even wanting to settle down finally...

Naughty 02-24-2005 09:16 AM

30+ is good, very good.

The only downside is life gets shorter

kmanrox 02-24-2005 09:17 AM

ive got another 11 months till im old as fuck (30)

NickPapageorgio 02-24-2005 09:18 AM

I have to walk with a cane now and my eyesight ain't so good. Other than that it's great. I listen to Perry Como and pet my cat and watch my soaps. I love it. Plus everyone is so nice to you.

Susan F 02-24-2005 09:21 AM

I feel great! especially because everyone says I look alot younger. We'll see how I feel as the day gets closer...

XXXSharonXXX 02-24-2005 09:24 AM

You are half-way to 60

:warning :warning :warning

Wizzo 02-24-2005 09:31 AM

You shouldn't even be considered a real adult till you hit 30... :winkwink:

IwantU Bryan 02-24-2005 09:32 AM

Just to make you fill better iŽll be 30 in about 5 years :winkwink:

Tom_PM 02-24-2005 09:32 AM

30? No effect. 40? No effect.

egor256 02-24-2005 09:34 AM

I'm going to be 30 soon :(((

sickkittens 02-24-2005 09:34 AM

Each new year is a smaller percentage of our lives, you should be used to it by now. ;)

Trixxxia 02-24-2005 09:36 AM

I don't think 30 was as bad as 31 was - I did however start seeing my memory fai, my body change, lots of changes - more reserved and less fearless was the one that took me by surprised the most.

Kevsh 02-24-2005 09:37 AM

The only potential downside to milestone birthdays is if you feel you haven't accomplished what you set out to do - for example, some women become distressed as they approach 30 if they aren't married, don't have kids, etc.

For guys, I think it's more material: Do you own a house, condo, etc.? How much are you earning at work yadda yadda.

Personally, I don't sweat any of it because when I look back at my life it feels like I've lived twice as many years as I have - and if the second half of my life feeis as long and is as interesting, then I look forward to it!

Basic_man 02-24-2005 09:38 AM

I'm so happy to still be young :D

Susan F 02-24-2005 09:48 AM

You're right Kevsh. I had bought a property about 7 years ago and wanted to have my home built by the time I was 30 and that hasn't happened. I think that would be the thing to bring me down some...

As to marriage and kids, no stress there, I can wait a lot longer for that...

MacDaddyPlaya 02-24-2005 09:48 AM

Age is just a number. It is the state of mind and body that matters. I know young people who look and act old as fuck. I am 38 (scaring the shit out of 40) but I don't feel much different than I did 10 years ago. I actually feel better in a lot of ways. Just hitting my prime.

Don't sweat it Susan, its all good. Have a happy birthday and enjoy it. Just remember that however old you are getting, it sure beats the alternarive.

cyfunfan 02-24-2005 09:53 AM

It's great for the libido if your F. Gals finally start catching up at 30. ;)

SleazeQueen 02-24-2005 09:53 AM

It's funny because being 30 didn't really hit me until I was about 32. :) Thirty was a fun milestone birthday, but I didn't "feel thirty" or anything. But a couple of years later I started to notice my priorities were shifting more to comfort and security than fun and bling.

I'm also 38 and feel the same way. I still look 30 or less so that helps.

Dead is a long fucking time!
So enjoy yourself while you can. :2 cents:

Cheers,
BV

Peaches 02-24-2005 09:57 AM

30 was good, 40 was better :)

Susan F 02-24-2005 09:57 AM

slapass 02-24-2005 09:58 AM

dennisthemenace 02-24-2005 10:23 AM

It only matters as much as you decide to let it matter.

I'm 7 years past that point.. No big deal.

tony286 02-24-2005 10:25 AM

it didnt bother me its just a number. Live a full life and none of those number will matter.

smashface 02-24-2005 11:04 AM

You'll be ok. I still havent done anything different.

Youth is wasted on the young - wait till you hit your 50's and really start to live - at 30 I had kids and debts and wife who married me because she wanted tall kids - at 44 I was single parent trying work, pay off debts and bring up 2 teenage girls - at 54 I'm married to the hottest chick on the planet, live on the beach and enjoy myself - who would ever want to be 30 :)

the statistics are against that.

women who really WANT to be married should have their antenna up for avail men between the ages of 21 and 24, when the best guys are pairing off.

so-called career gals that think they can wait have about a 50% statistical chance of never marrying simply because of the lessening of quality available partners each year they wait.

they are sitting at home watching oprah, and waiting for the phone to ring.

i could explain further, but the message is clear---if you want to marry a quality guy you need to be looking early in the game.
