Herpes - how much do you know?
 

really...a lot of us here grew up as part of the HIV/AIDS scare generation but how much do you know about other STDs and in particular herpes? I personally know two people in the last year that have tested positive..one on either side of the atlantic. Then, I read an article the other day over here about a large increase in cases of herpes amongst teenagers in the UK who think oral sex is perfectly safe, etc.

Are performers in the industry tested for it as regularly as they are HIV, etc. My one friend in the States reported difficulty in getting a proper test for it stating that the clinc said something about there having to be a 'break out' to do wide spread testing. I don't know how much of that is true since I don't live there.

How do you know that?

I have a few dif friends who have gotten it. Its funny, I still hook up with girls who insist on not using condoms. I know you can still get it with one, but its alot safer than without.

I have an active herpes simplex.

Same here. I have been tested a few times in the last 4 years and have been with only one person in that time.

doesnt almost everyone have a herpes simplex? .. please define herpes, do you mean crotch rotting herpes? or cold sores on the mouth ?

And you have sex w/ them w/o condoms?

No.......

I think that most people do have the kind that makes you get cold sores.

Genital variety

I heard awhile back ago they were coming out with a vaccine that proved effective against Herpes.
