DVD Shrink 3.2 Users

Is there anyway to cut out all the extra's that come in a movie to save space when copying? All I want is the movie not all the extra's and crap. Thanks :winkwink:

thats what the whole "Re-author" section is for : )

click Re-author... in the DVD Browser tab drag what you want from the right panel, to the left panel.. if you want to cut the opening/closing credits, click the two arrows pointing at each other.. when you got what you want, click on the 'compression settings' tab.. uncheck all the subtitles and all but the first audio stream. when you're happy, click backup.

or

if you want to keep all the shitty menus and some of the extra features, you can replace any/all the extras and other shit with a still image of your choice....

depends on how much compression, how much shit is on the dvd, and how fast your drive reads.
could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 20... and another 5-7minutes to burn (drive/media variables).

DX 02-23-2005 11:18 PM

Danny.. of it's taking that long, it might be time to upgrade...
BenQ 1620 OEM is only like $55... just replaced a bad Pioneer 108 with one of those..
works great.. also have a Pioneer 107 8X underneath.. comes in handy when combining parts from multiple discs onto one.

So your saying that it could be my DVD-Rom? Because I just bought the DVD Burner(Sony DVD-R Double Layer). Sorry if it's a dumb question but I don't know to much about computers :helpme

I've got a drive that reads at 12x and writes at 4x. Is it normal it took 50 mins to rip a full DVD?

DX 02-24-2005 12:41 AM

could be.. don't know the model.. or you system specs..

go here and search for your model (i think Sony drives are Lite-On's but I could be wrong)
http://club.cdfreaks.com

you'll find answers to just about everything.

Using my SM2 (R1, Widescreen)

BenQ 1620:
Whole Disc (46.6% compression): 29 Minutes
Movie Only (No Subs, AC3 5.1-ch English Only) (No Compression): 19 Minutes
Add another ~6 minutes to burn at 16x.

Pioneer 107D
Whole Disc (46.6% compression): 28 Minutes
Movie Only (No Compression): 18 Minutes
Add another ~8 Minutes to burn at 8X.

Nice use of your 1000th post ;)

You're reading at 16x, yet it's almost twice as fast as my drive which is supposedly reading at 12x. Looks like I gotta do some tests on my drive.

Hey funny guy, eat a dick and then :321GFY

flashfire 02-24-2005 02:52 AM

its funny I got a dvd burner 4 years ago...first one that came out 1x and still going strong, takes a long time to burn but has never burnt a coaster. Takes my 5-10 mins to rip and an hour to burn! If you think thats bad back in the day you had to go though like 20 steps to rip then burn.
