lets just say the .com version of this domain name would be minimum 3 million.

advice.

I don't think .ca ever really took off in Canada, just like .us never really took off in the US.

moneybiz 02-23-2005 09:20 PM

not lookin at it

LeWeekend 02-23-2005 09:45 PM

depending on what domain it is..
but .ca is much more risky then .DE for instance. the market is still regulated (only for canadians),pretty small and canadians still go for .com's. before the market is availible to everybody i recommend to pay low.

I would not invest 20k on .ca domain. :2 cents:

men.ca ?

tungsten 02-23-2005 09:56 PM

depends on what it is, it could really be worth it

.ca is doing a lot better than .us

I got tons of killer .ca but I would never use them to build a site over them unless it's a project directly related to canada and if it's a straight project. Paysite I don't even think about it anymore. We started with www.adultcontent.ca and we had TONS of webmaster thinking .ca was for california.... imagine how surfers can be lost ;)

I think .ca domains are mostly good for SE value.

Men.ca has some value ..but doesn't worth 20k... probably 5k if you found the right person with the right project

If you want sexe.ca let me know :)

Take care

Sami 02-23-2005 10:14 PM

thanks for the responces.

Keep them coming :)

not true, CA domains are used very frequently.

Well have a read through the regulations for .ca befor you buy it.
They arent afriad to take the domains back if you violate them.

Blog.ca sold for $20,201 on Ebay. (Link)
That is the biggest. CA sale I have ever seen. Nothing else has been even close.

Here's a sampling of .CA sales from last week, per DNjournal.com:

AdultSexToys.ca $600
Router.ca $500
Correo.ca $500
Square.ca $400
Week.ca $360

Maybe these results will give you a better insight. I would think to spend $XX,XXX on a .CA name it would have to come with a large amount of typein traffic, be a premium (or ultra-premium) name, and also be something the propsective new owner just needed to have.

My :2 cents:

good post paxton. :)

Anyone else with comments?

pxxx 02-23-2005 10:43 PM

20k for a .ca name is too much period.

sonofsam 02-23-2005 10:55 PM

i had sellbuy.ca but i let it expire.... :)
